The Triangle Freethought Society is a group of atheists and agnostics living in the Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill metropolitan area of North Carolina. We are a chapter of the Freedom from Religion Foundation - a 13,000 member organization based in Madison, Wisconsin.

Our purpose is to stand up for the separation of church and state as guaranteed by the First Amendment to the constitution of the United States and to educate the public on matters relating to nontheism.

We fight for the rights of atheists and agnostics to ensure that they enjoy the same rights as religious citizens. We work to correct the distorted image of atheists and agnostics that the religious right perpetuates. We defend science education from religious pseudo-science, and we promote reason and compassion as an alternative to unquestioning faith in supernatural deities.

If you are tired of your tax dollars being used to fund religious education and expansion, and of the religious imposing their irrational belief systems on our society, then please consider joining us.
